For generation in extreme conditions: innovative solar cells have been created

New solar modules that are resistant to overheating and provide almost 100% bidirectionality will be presented at the exhibition in Abu Dhabi.

Chinese company Huasun Energy is preparing to present advanced solar cells designed to meet the unique needs of the region at the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) 2025 in Abu Dhabi. SolarQuarter reports.

As the publication notes, the abundance of sunlight and high temperatures in the Middle East pose unique challenges for photovoltaic systems. In view of this, Huasun intends to demonstrate n-type silicon-based HJT solar cells and modules designed to operate in extreme conditions such as deserts.

The cells that Huasun will present in Abu Dhabi boast a temperature coefficient of -0.24%/℃. The bilaterally symmetrical structure and special material properties of HJT solar cells increase the mobility of charge carriers and reduce the risk of overheating points, ensuring stable energy generation even in scorching heat conditions with minimal power and efficiency losses.

In addition, the company promises bidirectionality close to 100%. According to the portal, maximum energy capture is achieved by utilizing both direct and reflected sunlight, which is especially beneficial in environments with high reflectivity, such as deserts.

“Visitors to WFES will be able to see Huasun's diverse product line, including the Himalaya G12-132 730W, Everest G12R-132 630W, G12R-108 520W modules, and an ultra-high biphasic module that provides nearly 100% biphasicity,” the publication states.
