For carrying loads and more: an innovative exoskeleton has been created in Germany

The German company German Bionic introduced its latest exoskeleton Apogee ULTRA at the CES 2025 exhibition. The novelty was designed to help owners carry heavy loads, writes Interesting Engineering.

According to the developers, Apogee ULTRA can provide lifting support weighing up to 36 kg. In addition, the exoskeleton is able to make a 10-kilometer walk feel like 8 kilometers.

German Bionic shared that the Apogee ULTRA is designed for industries where workers often work with heavy loads. However, the exoskeleton can also be useful in other areas of activity, the publication emphasized.

The company added that the new development will not only increase people's efficiency, but also reduce the risk of occupational injuries.

According to German Bionic, during the tests, a 31% reduction in the number of hospital stays due to such injuries was found. This was achieved, in part, thanks to the “Ultra Mode”, which provides smoother transitions between support modes.

The Apogee ULTRA also integrates artificial intelligence. It helps the exoskeleton better adapt to the specific habits and needs of the owner. German Bionic said that the software will be updated over the air in the future.

The exoskeleton comes with its own Bionic Connect application. German Bionic claims that this increases the usability of the device and allows the user to customize the Apogee ULTRA to their liking.

Schmidt as saying.
