MediaTek has officially announced its new Dimensity 9400 mobile chipset, which promises greater power efficiency, faster AI and triple screen support, like the Huawei Mate XT.
9400 is built on a 3-nanometer process. The chipset is 40% more energy efficient than its predecessor, the 9300, and consists of a single Arm Cortex-X925 core clocked at 3.62GHz, as well as three Arm Cortex-X4 cores and four Cortex-A720 cores, both of which were announced at last year's exhibition Computex. MediaTek says this combination delivers 35% faster single-core performance and 28% faster multi-core performance than the 9300. The chipset also includes a new 12-core Arm Immortalis-G925 GPU with 40 percent faster ray tracing.
The chipset also received MediaTek's eighth-generation NPU with support for training certain types of lightweight AI models. It also supports AI video generation and provides a framework for developers to create agent-based applications — AI that can do things for users.

It is expected that the 9400 can be seen on the market by the end of the year. The company's high-quality chips, as a rule, appear first in flagship phones from Chinese manufacturers such as Vivo and Oppo.
