A rare coin in Ukraine with a face value of two kopecks, issued in 1992, they sell for almost 250 thousand hryvnias. It has some features, as stated in the announcement posted on the marketplace with the Violity auction system.
Collectors appreciate two pennies made of aluminum alloy for a crazy amount of money because of its uniqueness.
The peculiarity of the coin is that it depicts a narrow wreath. It was a trial limited edition.
According to the information in the book "LSZ – the first mint of Ukraine", in 1992 coins with a face value of 2 kopecks minted a trial batch of coins, they had a narrow wreath.
The reverse says "2 kopecks", depicts a small coat of arms with the date "1992", on the obverse – the inscription "Ukraine". At the same time, the frame of the wreath is very far from the edge of the coin.
It is noteworthy that this fact is a common mistake during minting, due to the simultaneous minting of 2 different coins of different denominations and at first different diameters.
In Ukraine, unusual 2 kopecks are also sold for 33 thousand hryvnias.
