(Newark) With an unanswered three-goal push in the third period, the Philadelphia Flyers beat the New Jersey Devils 5-3 on Tuesday.
Nolan Patrick, Joel Farabee and Ivan Provorov then scored their second goals of the campaign, from 7:03 am to 6:24 pm.
Scott Laughton made a nice forward check, intercepted a pass from Ty Smith and shot backhand. Farabee took charge of the rebound, making it 4-2.
Provorov also contributed to James Van Riemsdyk’s two power play goals.
Claude Giroux also provided two assists.
Brian Elliott made 23 saves for the Flyers, who had lost their last two games.
Michael McLeod, Travis Zajac and Pavel Zacha fought back for the Devils.
It was a first NHL goal for Ontarian McLeod.
Scott Wedgewood repelled 26 shots.
