Football player of the Portuguese national team Cristiano Ronaldo became the first person to cross the mark of one billion followers in all social networks.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who has the largest audience on Instagram with more than 638 million followers, reached a historic figure after launching his own YouTube channel. In three weeks, more than 60 million users subscribed to it.

According to the athlete, this number is not only his achievements, but also his supporters, whom he called a part of his life.

We made history – 1 billion subscribers! It's more than just a number – it's a testament to our shared passion, drive and love for the game and beyond. […] This journey is our journey, and together we have shown that there are no limits to what we can achieve, Ronaldo declared.

According to the BBC, this is the total number of followers from Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube and the Chinese social networks Weibo and Kuaishou. And that number still doesn't mean the footballer has one billion unique followers, as many people follow him on multiple platforms and some of the accounts are bots.

Let us remind you that the day before Ronaldo became the author of another unprecedented record – scoring 900 goals during his career at the club and international levels, which has not been achieved by anyone in men's football.

Another soccer star and Ronaldo's rival on the field Lionel Messi has only 623 million followers. He is also ahead of many world-famous artists, including Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez.
