A Russian citizen who returned from Europe was found to be infected with monkeypox. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to Rospotrebnadzor.

It is known that the guy returned from a trip to Europe and went to a medical facility with a characteristic rash. The circle of contacts of the patient during his stay in Russia was limited. He lived alone in the apartment. All contact persons are under control.

Monkeypox – a rare zoonotic viral disease (a disease transmitted to humans from animals). Usually found in West and Central Africa. Symptoms of the disease include fever, headache, and a skin rash that starts on the face and spreads to the rest of the body.
