Finnish Foreign Minister Calls on Scholz to Understand that Russians Are Enemies

Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen criticized German Chancellor Olaf Scholz's position regarding the supply of long-range missiles to Ukraine, Euractiv writes.

“It must be said that we hope that Germany will play a very important role in countering the Russian threat,” the Finnish Foreign Minister said during a meeting in Berlin on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Nordic countries in Germany.

She also noted that Ukraine's European partners are not responsible for the escalation of the conflict, since they work within the framework of international law. She added that Russia will not back down if its allies stop helping Ukraine.

Euractiv noted that Valtonen's words could be a direct response to Scholz's statements regarding the Victory Plan of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The German Chancellor was reserved about the key points of the document.
