
Finland will create an EU reserve for protection against chemical, biological and nuclear impacts

The European Commission (EC) has announced 242 million euros for creation in Finland the first rescEU strategic reserve (rescue component of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism) against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) impacts. This was reported by Reuters.
The EC stressed that the CBRN reserve will be a reserve of medical countermeasures that will be used in emergencies in the field of health.
The publication notes that this initiative was proposed under the strengthened EU Civil Protection Mechanism.
"This new reserve is the first associated with CBRN and will include critical medical countermeasures such as vaccines and antidotes, medical devices, and field equipment to provide better protection and response after CBRN events or when preparing for high-risk situations, — BAGNET has previously reported that EC President Ursula von der Leyen said that the European Commission intends to propose strengthening the resilience of the EU's space infrastructure.
