According to the published World Happiness Report. not only Finland, but also its neighbors – Denmark, Iceland and Sweden – also remained in the top ten of the happiness rating.

It is noted that a close connection with nature and a healthy balance between work and personal life contribute to the leadership of these countries in the world rankings of happiness.

However, some Western countries experienced an increase in unhappiness, especially among young people, which led to their decline in the ranking. The US and Germany dropped out for the first time from the top twenty, and their places were taken by Costa Rica and Kuwait.

It is worth noting that Serbia, Bulgaria and Latvia were among the countries that reported the greatest increase in the level of happiness. While Ukraine took 105th place, and Afghanistan remained last.

The World Happiness Report is based on a global survey of people in more than 140 countries around the world and takes into account a variety of factors, including GDP per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy and more.
