Josée Bélair, a 51-year-old woman, was arrested Thursday by investigators from the MALSAIN project of the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ). With the assistance of the Tactical Intervention Group, the arrest took place as part of an investigation into drug trafficking and possession of a firearm for a dangerous purpose.

In the residence of the woman who appeared Thursday afternoon, a search allowed investigators to seize an air pistol and a telescopic baton.

The SPVQ indicates that more than 3,100 methamphetamine tablets, more than 80 grams of cocaine and around 20 grams of methamphetamine were also seized, as well as more than 800 contraband cigarettes.

Nearly $40,000 in Canadian money was also seized from the woman's home, located in the Saint-Sauveur sector.
