To mark his 20e anniversary and to move as far as possible from pandemic containment, the Jamais Lu Montreal Festival will be held this year from August 19 to 28. The theatrical event, which usually takes place in spring, will take place around an outdoor bar, in front of the Aux Écuries Theater in the Saint-Michel district, with performances in situ.
Le Jamais Lu also unveiled the names of the artists invited to the artistic co-direction of the festival in 2021. They are the authors Anne-Marie Olivier and Marie-Louise Bibish Mumbu, as well as the young actor Étienne Lou. These three artists will join the “artistic unit”, made up of Marcelle Dubois and Fanny Brossard Charbonneau, to concoct the program for this special edition.
Founded by Marcelle Dubois, Jamais Lu has given itself the mission of “caring for, stimulating and celebrating dramaturgy”, by supporting playwrights with a benevolent gaze. For the public, this is the golden opportunity to witness the birth of a theatrical text.
Since its creation two decades ago, the event has made children across Quebec and in France, with an edition in Paris. We will soon announce a brand new satellite of Jamais Lu… in Martinique!
The unveiling of the 20e summer edition in Montreal will take place next June.
