In his column “Tell me another”, Fernando Vivas refers to the situation of President Pedro Castillo, who this morning gave his statement to the National Prosecutor's Office, which is investigating him for the alleged crimes of criminal organization, influence peddling and aggravated collusion.

Vivas points out that “everything the president says can be used against him, that is the logic of testifying before the Nation's prosecutor, Pablo Sánchez, or before any other prosecutor”

“Until now, President Pedro Castillo has said many things that have been used by his opponents, public opinion and the press, but without the consequences that a contradiction or an admission of guilt before an open process with all those of the law in which he is investigated or charged”, he adds.

However, as Vivas explains, the head of state “cannot be tried yet, but yes, everything he says before the National Prosecutor can be used very effectively against him when, outside the presidency, It could be vulnerable to a fiscal accusation and we are talking about big words there.”
