This was announced by the Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov.
Now Ukrainian seafarers do not need to spend money on notarized powers of attorney to obtain qualification documents – everything can be done online and for free.
Until recently, the procedure was quite complicated and expensive.
Due to frequent flights abroad, seafarers were unable to personally collect qualification documents from the Shipping Administration.
Before digitalization, it was necessary to issue an offline power of attorney, which cost about $200 on average.
Thanks to the new function in the Action, the process has been significantly simplified. Now a seafarer can appoint a proxy online to receive documents.
The entire procedure takes a few minutes and does not require financial costs.
A relative or other proxy receives a letter with a QR code and confirmation by e-mail, after which he collects the documents without any bureaucratic obstacles.
Since the launch of this service, 3,000 Ukrainian seafarers have already used it. The total amount of money saved due to the refusal of notarized powers of attorney amounted to $600,000.
Digitalization allows not only to save money, but also to get rid of corruption risks.
