In front of the restaurant where a gypsy family wedding was taking place early Sunday morning in Torrejon de Ardoz, Madrid region, a fight breaks out, “an intentional hit occurs and the people who were in the vehicle flee,” a spokeswoman for the National Police told AFP.

The services of Madrid 112 received the first call at 02:44 this morning, reporting the event in which a 70-year-old woman and three men aged 40, 60 and 17 died due to a fractures and polytrauma derived from the accident. “Upon our arrival at the scene, we found four deceased due to multiple fractures”, Carlos Polo, head of the emergency services in Madrid, told journalists.

“We have also found and treated four seriously ill patients who have had head injuries and lower limb fractures”, who were taken to hospitals in the area, added Polo.

Two middle-aged men were taken to Hospital de Coslada and Gregorio Marañón with fractures in the leg and pelvis, respectively. And two women with traumatic brain injuries have been transferred to hospitals in Torrejón and La Princesa

Three other people were injured minor, Juan José Crespo, the person in charge of security for the Torrejón de Ardoz mayor's office, told public television, specifying that none of the seven injured is in danger of death.

The suspicious vehicle that had fled was located by the Civil Guard in Seseña, a town 50 kilometers from the scene of the event, and its “three occupants were detained”, the police spokeswoman explained.< /p>

It is about a father and his two children “underage”, detailed Juan José Crespo, who said that they were identified by witnesses who saw the outrage .

A fourth occupant of the vehicle ran away, Crespo added.

Police continue to investigate the exact circumstances of the events that led to the accident.

SUMA 112 services activated the Multiple Victims Incident (IMV) procedure and a total of 22 health teams attended the scene, including a psychologist who has had to deal with several anxiety crises among family members.
