Fans will appreciate: LEGO released a new majestic set “Lord of the Rings”

LEGO Barad-dûr will be available from June 1st if you're a Lego Insider, or June 4th if you're not part of the free membership. The set, which is exclusive to the LEGO Store, will cost you $459.99 USD or £399.99 from LEGO UK. If you buy it between June 1st and June 7th, you'll also get a free Fallen Beast figure (the dragons that the Ringwraiths flew) with a Nazgul rider.

This new Lord of the Rings LEGO set isn't available for purchase yet, so you may have to wait until June to get your grubby hands on this Rivendell companion – a set that we think is one of the best LEGO sets yet. However, to pass the time, below you'll find all the details we have on LEGO Barad-dur.

The vertical arrangement makes this set even more impressive than the last Lord of the Rings set, LEGO Rivendell. While Barad-dur doesn't have as much detail (just over 5k compared to Rivendell's 6,167), it's just as eye-catching with a sharp central spire that will dominate any space it's placed in. Indeed, the tower can be stacked even higher if you use multiple sets (thanks to Jay's Brick Blog).

Rather than being an enclosed building, Barad-dur is a facade; flip it over and you'll see numerous rooms spread across its length, from an orc dining room to a torture chamber with a skeleton hanging in a cage. There's even an automated gate and an illuminated Eye of Sauron to give you extra points. If Rivendell was anything like that, there must be many hidden secrets here too.

To top it all off, the set includes 10 minifigures: Frodo, Sam, Gollum, the Maw of Sauron (someone from the extended editions with a big mouth literally and figuratively), Gothmog from The Return of the King, a handful of orcs and the Dark Lord Sauron himself… to the phase of “oh, I became a fiery eye because someone stole my ring”.

As this is the second of LEGO's new Lord of the Rings sets, we can't help but wonder what we'll get next. Helm's Deep, the castle of the Two Towers? The tiered city of Minis Tirith from Return of the King? Hopefully at some point we will be done with Bag-End.
