Currently, law enforcement officers are investigating all the circumstances of the fraud.
In Kamianets-Podilskyi, scammers swindled a 33-year-old local resident out of more than 12 thousand hryvnias. As reported by the Kamianets-Podilskyi District Police Department, a Kamianets-Podilskyi resident found an ad on social networks about the sale of a car from abroad at a fairly favorable price and inexpensive customs clearance and became interested in the offer.
«The man called the seller and he said that to complete the purchase, a prepayment of 12,500 hryvnias was required. Forgetting about caution, the victim sent money to the account indicated by the fraudster, however, after that the pseudo-seller did not get in touch anymore», – the police report.
Currently, law enforcement officers are investigating all the circumstances of the incident and once again emphasize that one should be careful when making online purchases and not send money for services or goods in advance, as there is a risk of falling into the trap of fraudsters and losing savings.
