Facebook is being updated to attract more young people to the social network

Facebook/Meta

Facebook announced an update to its platform to attract more young people and take users outside the social bubble of friends and family.

The social network wants to attract more young users so that they do not spend all your time on TikTok, Instagram and other social networks. Meta writes about it.

Emphasis will be placed on information about the local community, videos and Facebook groups. Meta AI, Facebook Dating and Messenger will also be updated.

What will be the updates:

  • New tabs that should provide more content< /strong> for users, including recommendations based on a person's location.
  • New “Local” tabwill collect content about what's happening or being sold near a user's location.
  • Facebook will also begin testing the Explore tab, which is similar to Instagram's feature of the same name. This is a personalized page with recommended photos, videos and other content unique to each person.
200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000

The company says the Explore tab will be based on user interests and display content from “real people and expert communities,” like travel tips.

In addition, Facebook will add a full-screen video feed that resembles the page TikTok For You, bringing together short, long and live broadcasts in one place.

Messenger will also get a major upgrade in the form of Messenger Communities, a feature reminiscent of Slack or Discord. There you will be able to create communities with several chats on different topics. For example, there is one large university group with various chat rooms for announcements and discussions.

Facebook Events is also being updated. This tab will offer users a digest of the week's events or a weekend digest of upcoming events based on their interests.
