Explosion of pagers and walkie-talkies in Lebanon: Israel denies involvement

Israel denied involvement in the explosions of pagers and walkie-talkies of the group "Hezbollah" in Lebanon, as a result of which dozens of people died, and thousands more — were injured.

This was stated by the country's president, Yitzhak Herzog, in an interview with Sky News.

In response to the question of Israel's responsibility for this week's attacks in Lebanon, he responded that he "categorically rejects any connection with this or that operation". At the same time, the president did not provide any evidence of this.

«There are many enemies of “Hezbollah”, quite a lot these days. “Hezbollah” suffocated Lebanon, destroyed Lebanon, created chaos in Lebanon again and again and again. We are simply here to protect ourselves. This is all we do», — said Herzog.

At the same time, he noted that Israel "makes it clear that it must take measures" to "protect its people".

According to the president, there is a "possibility of sharp escalation", but Israel does not want a war with Lebanon.
