One of the most important characteristics of a smartphone, along with the battery, is the amount of memory.
Lack of free space prevents you from installing applications and saving new photos.
One of the reasons for this is “gluttonous” applications, among which the messenger occupies a special place Telegram.
Despite its modest size when installed (about 130 MB), Telegram can take up several gigabytes, automatically saving photos, videos, and other data from chats. This feature is convenient because the content does not require re-downloading, but it quickly fills up the storage.
To free up space and prevent its shortage in the future, it is recommended to regularly clear the application cache. In the case of Telegram, it is enough to perform the following actions:
- Open the application and go to the «Settings» section.
- Select «Data and memory».
- Find the «Memory usage» option and click «Clear all cache».
This procedure deletes temporary files without losing correspondence and multimedia content. Media files from chats will be reloaded if necessary.
Other popular apps, such as TikTok or YouTube, have a similar approach. Some, for example, may store media files in the device's gallery, and these also need to be deleted manually from time to time.
If clearing the cache doesn't work, you can move photos, videos, and other large files to an SD card or cloud storage.
Regularly paying attention to your smartphone's memory usage and configuring popular apps helps to avoid it from filling up completely and keep your device in working order.
