This tea belongs to the post-fermented varieties and has a high concentration of polyphenols, catechins and flavonoids. The fermentation process is a two-step process that multiplies the beneficial bacteria, making Puerh extremely beneficial to health. The most expensive species have been exposed to this effect for half a century.
According to doctors, one cup of the drink a day can minimize the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases, remove toxins from the body, reduce the amount of “bad” cholesterol in the blood and even prevent cancer. Due to its powerful oxidizing properties, pu-erh saturates the blood with oxygen, thereby improving its circulation, and simple sugars and microorganisms help the spleen to remove free radicals.
Experts from the Kunming University of Science and Technology have found that tea can affect tumor cells, almost without causing side effects, and also inhibit their growth. In addition, the drink makes bones stronger, helps to cope with stress and extra pounds.
