Experts named five forgotten gadgets and technologies that should return

The popular portal XDA Developers published a new material in which they mentioned gadgets and technologies that have long become “retro” but the return of which many would be happy.

The list opens with the iPod music player from Apple, which was ahead of its time. It is a classic model with a scroll wheel, restarting which with a capacious solid-state drive and “pumped” Siri in 2024 would surely please many music lovers.

The same can be said for Microsoft's Zune.

The attempt to compete with the iPod failed, but it was a spectacular failure, according to XDA. A gadget with a futuristic design and a brilliant hardware base, unfortunately, lasted for three generations and went into oblivion.

Also, experts are saddened by the release from the market of smartphones running the Windows Mobile operating system. In the age of artificial intelligence, modern Windows Mobile could become a full-fledged alternative to Android and possibly iOS.

Although with the advent of streaming services, physical media for music (audio cassettes and CDs) did not completely disappear, but they declined. Vinyl records, on the contrary, are becoming popular again. So there is still hope for their return.

And, finally, the last technology, the return of which many would be happy – is physical keyboards on smartphones. An example is the stylish and secure BlackBerry Key2 with its full physical QWERTY keyboard under the display.
