Experts have calculated the cost of the Google Pixel 9 Pro smartphone

Every year after the release of the most popular smartphones, various bloggers and technical experts take it upon themselves to examine the devices for durability, take them apart and, of course, count how much their parts cost. Pixel 9 Pro was no exception. After the summer release, it was investigated only now and the cost price of all details has already been announced. Spoiler: the price is lower than last year.

How much do PIxel 9 Pro parts cost

Before naming the amount, it is worth noting that we are talking about the cost of the smartphone's parts – the case, processor, camera, screen, battery and other parts. But this number does not take into account the cost of production, employee wages, utility costs, marketing, delivery, etc. Such costs, as a rule, exceed the cost of the materials themselves, reports 24 Kanal with reference to Nikkei.

So, according to a new report, Google's costs for the production of the PIxel 9 Pro are $406, which may be lower than the previous generation. The price at which the company sells smartphones on its website starts at $999 for the smallest amount of memory.

  • The Tensor processor was estimated at $80, which is slightly more expensive than before.
  • Samsung's M14 display costs $75.
  • Camera components cost $61.
  • Google managed to save on the display and cameras compared to previous generations .

According to the findings, the Pixel 9 Pro costs around 11% less than the Pixel 8 Pro, although this cannot be a direct comparison as the Pixel 9 Pro has a slightly smaller display and battery compared to with the Pixel 8 Pro. But the report doesn't compare the 9 Pro XL to the 8 Pro directly.

The same publication says that the cost of Apple's iPhone 16 Pro is $568, which is slightly more , than the 15 Pro, with the M14's display costing $110 and the camera components – 91 dollars. Apple's A18 Pro chip is said to cost $135, although that price seems a bit high. For context, Qualcomm is reportedly charging just over $200 for the Snapdragon 8 Elite, so it's clear why Apple and Google prefer to build their own processors.
