Microsoft Japan successfully tested a four-day schedule instead of five. This information was provided by CNBC TV company.

According to the source, Microsoft was not only able to reduce energy consumption, but also increased sales four days a week on a shorter schedule in August. It is worth noting that at the same time, employees received the same salaries as during the five-day period. Also, the eligible leave remained unchanged.

It is known that this experiment was organized during the Work Life Choice Challenge 2019 Summer program. The number of employees who took part in it was 2300. The company's sales increased by 39.99% compared to August last year, and employees needed less time off. In addition, electricity consumption fell by 23% and paper fell by 58%. The overwhelming majority of participants in the experiment (92.1%) assessed the four-day work week, but noted that it was difficult for them to rest on Friday, realizing that others devote this day to work, according to 360 TV.
