"Eurovision 2023" will not will take place in Ukraine, despite the that this year the Ukrainian group Kalush Orchestra took the first place in the song contest.

According to the EBU press service, our country is not ;will be able to accept the contest due to the ongoing war, writes Dumskaya.

“Given the ongoing war following the Russian invasion of this year's winning country, the EBU undertook a full assessment and feasibility study justification with outside experts, including security issues. After an objective analysis, the Eurovision Governing Board came to the conclusion with deep regret that, given the current circumstances, the security guarantees necessary for the broadcaster to hold the Eurovision Song Contest  in according Eurovision rules cannot be performed by the National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine (UA:PBC)", — noted in message.

As a result EBU will start negotiations on holding the competition with Great Britain, which took second place.
