At the European Games in Poland, two track and field athletes from Belgium were injured and could not take part in the 100-meter hurdles race.
The failure threatened the Belgian collective disqualification, so the Belgian shot put and hammer throw champion Julien Bumkwo had to save the situation. She never ran. Despite this, the girl got to the start and ran the entire distance without knocking down a single barrier.
Jolien finished with a time of 32.81 seconds – 19 seconds later than the athlete who took seventh place.< /p>
The footage of Bumkwo carefully stepping over each obstacle while other athletes run ahead of her has gone viral on social media.
