The Ukrainian national team won a medal already in the first race of the European Biathlon Championship, which started in the Swiss Lenzergaide. "Silver" in the individual race Yuliya Dzhima won, reports.

The leader of the women's national team of Ukraine over the distance closed 19 out of 20 targets, making only one miss. As a result, this allowed her to take third place.

However, at the end of the race, the results were revised. The electronic results tracking system erroneously did not take into account two flaws in the Italian race winner, Michela Carrara. After reviewing the results, the Italians were added two minutes of penalty, due to which she dropped from first place to 11th. Consequently, Jima won back one more position and changed the “bronze” to "silver".

German Lisa Maria Spark – she worked flawlessly at the shooting range and surpassed Jima's result by only 5.5 seconds.

As for other representatives of Ukraine, Anna Krivonos became 16th, Anastasia Merkushina – 24th, Lyubov Kipyachenkova – 35th, and Elena Belosyuk – 40th.
