Hell heat will cover Europe again: tourists were warned of +46°C in several directions

In some regions, record temperatures persist for a long period, which prevents recreation. Tourists have been warned again about another wave of scorching heat, which is expected to sweep through popular places in the south of Europe.

Tourists heading to Europe warned of hellish heat

Travellers heading to Spain, Portugal and Morocco this week are being asked to brace for heat with highs of up to +46°C. The mercury has already reached +44°C in southern and eastern parts of the continent.

People are being asked to stay indoors to avoid excessive heat in Turkey, Greece and Italy, which is inspiring a mass of hot air from the Sahara desert in North Africa.

Spain has already recorded extreme temperatures this summer, so the authorities have issued a health warning and warned of a high risk of forest fires.

In Portugal, the heat is above +37°C and strong winds are helping the fire to spread. In contrast, temperatures in Italy have finally dropped a few degrees to +38°C, but the weather forecast says the heat will continue.

At the same time Greece is experiencing its worst threat of forest fires in two decades, and the level of some reservoirs reached the lowest level in 10 years. By the way, against the background of such temperatures, the Acropolis – the biggest cultural attraction of Greece – forced to close from noon for 5 hours due to the heat.

Protect yourself, hydrate yourself, refresh yourself and take care of the more vulnerable people, &ndash ; the authorities appeal to residents and tourists.

People, especially the elderly, children and pregnant women, are advised to stay at home from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The warning will be in effect as long as the heat remains above the seasonal norm.
