The president of the Ethics Commission, Karol Paredes (Popular Action), told El Comercio that the technical team of this working group is making inquiries for a possible ex officio complaint against Congresswoman María Córdova (Avanza País), who – according to “Panorama”– he would have allowed the coordinator of his office, Shirley Martínez, to receive a salary from Congress while also working at her partner's company.
“We are in a process of evaluation and investigation on this subject. Over the weekend we will have a clearer picture, perhaps by that date a complaint will also be filed by parties table”, said Paredes.
According to the Sunday paper, Martínez coordinated the legislator's agenda and in parallel worked as a commercial advisor for the LOT International company, owned by Horacio Vergara, boyfriend of the representative of Avanza País.
Córdova denied any knowledge of the activities of his coordinator.
“I don't have to tell you what she does (…) It's my staff, but I'm not behind her to see what What does he do?”, the legislator replied to “Panorama”.
After the report was released, the congresswoman reiterated that she did not know the facts and announced that he had dismissed Martínez.
“I regret that a State worker to whom I gave my trust and designated her as my liaison coordinator in my congressional office in Lambayeque has carried out parallel activities,” says the statement she posted on Twitter.

This Journal tried to communicate with the parliamentarian about the possible complaint in Ethics; however, at the close of this edition she did not respond.
María Córdova came to Congress as a representative of Lambayeque for Popular Renovation. However, in August 2021, he resigned from the sky blue bench along with Norma Yarrow and Diego Bazán.
