Estonians will be banned from importing some Russian goods: which ones

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the website of the Tax and Customs Department of Estonia.

“The ban is related to the sanctions adopted by the EU in order to prevent the purchase of Russian goods that bring Russia a significant income”, – the message says.

The ban will take effect on July 10th. The list of prohibited goods includes alcoholic beverages with a strength of less than 80%, furniture, wood and fertilizers. Sanctions also apply to the export of a number of goods to Russia, in particular luxury goods and some consumer electronics.

The department noted that violation of sanctions is a crime, but they will not open a criminal case for the first offense.

“If individuals were allowed to import duty-free a liter of strong alcohol and 125 grams of caviar into Estonia, then from July 10 this will not be possible. It will also be impossible to import wooden doors from a hardware store in Pskov”, – said the head of the customs department, Eerik Heldna, in a media comment.
