RBC-Ukraine with reference to ERR.

He told his colleagues from the Baltic countries about these plans during a two-day visit to Latvia. The plan involves covering the entire eastern border with technology capable of detecting and displaying drones, as well as providing such a capability in major cities.

“This is a unique initiative of this scale. Detecting and countering drones is extremely important for both deterrence and for measures in response to influence activities on the part of our eastern neighbors,” he said.

The minister noted that in the near future we need to be prepared for the fact that Russia will increasingly try to disrupt their lives with the help of drones, as it is becoming more and more difficult to physically penetrate the territory of Estonia.

Deputy Director General of the Department of Police and Border Guard Veiko Kommusaar said that from the point of view of the police, it is important to cover the entire eastern border and large cities with stationary means of detecting and displaying drones, and the Department of Police and Border Protection together with partners is developing a corresponding plan.

Estonia is preparing for a possible war with Russia

The Baltic states could become the main target of the Russian Federation if it decides to attack NATO. Therefore, preparations are now being made to prevent attacks by an aggressor state.

Recently, the Financial Times wrote that Estonia will significantly strengthen NATO's eastern border with Russia and build an entire defensive line for protection.
