Erdogan demands from Sweden to change the law
Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at a meeting with the parliamentary faction of his party that his country will not support Sweden's application to join NATO as long as there are possible actions to burn the sacred book of the Koran for Muslims, Anadolu reports.
“While Sweden will sanction actions similar to the burning books – Koran, we won't say “yes” Stockholm's application to join the Alliance”, Erdogan said.
The President also noted that Turkey's position on Finland's accession to the Alliance remains positive:
“We are closely following the developments with joining NATO. Our opinion on Finland is positive, but not on Sweden,” he said.
