The Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Epiphany, appeals to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal with a request to provide the church with one of the churches of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra for regular worship.
This was reported in a letter of the Primate of the OCU to Shmyhal.
Epiphanius noted that on May 23, by the decision of the Holy Synod of the OCU, a monastery was founded – the Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk Lavra of the OCU.
Therefore, the Primate of the OCU asks Shmygal to resolve the issue of providing the OCU with one of the temples on the territory of the Upper Lavra for regular worship of the Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. He notes that these temples are not actually used for permanent worship. He gave examples – the Church of the Annunciation in the former Metropolitan's Chambers, the Church of All Saints over the Economic Gates, or another within the Upper Lavra. Ukraine and Ukrainian society”, – said Epiphanius.
He also asks the government to find an opportunity to provide premises on the territory of the Upper Lavra for monastic life and activities.
BAGNET recalls that Epiphanius called on the Ecumenical Patriarch to dethrone the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill.
