In the second round of the Premier League on September 19, two newly minted newcomers of the championship will converge: Leeds will take Fulham. We have prepared a forecast for this meeting.
Both newcomers lost in the first round of the Premier League. However, they did it in completely different ways. If Fulham were weak-willed to Arsenal (0: 3), then Leeds gave a real fight to the national champion, losing to Liverpool with a score of 3: 4. Moreover, the Reds scored the winning goal at the end of the meeting.
Leeds had a really promising start to the season. True, in the League Cup, the “whites” failed to reinforce their status. The Peacocks were eliminated from Hull City, losing to the Tigers on penalties. The main time ended with the score 1: 1.
Only Adam Forshaw is injured at Leeds. The involvement of Liam Cooper is questionable.
As a reminder, Leeds spent a lot this offseason – 69 million euros. In the first round, Robin Koch, who came from Freiburg, scored unpleasantly among the newcomers of Marcelo Bielsa’s team. The German brought a penalty kick in the very first minutes of the match.
Fulham at home with Arsenal looked almost helpless. “Gunners” defeated “summer residents” 3: 0. Although it is worth noting that Scott Parker’s wards nevertheless struck two shots on target and even filed two corners. Perhaps the 1: 3 score would have been more fair, but the fact that Fulham’s play is dull does not change this. Given that the summer residents are relatively passive in the transfer market, one gets the impression that Parker’s team is the main candidate for elimination.
However, in the League Cup, Fulham rehabilitated themselves for failing in the first round. The Summer Residents beat Ipswich away (1: 0) and advanced to the next round, where they will face Sheffield Wednesday.
Fulham has no injured, but participation in the match between Jean-Michel Seri and Stefan Johansen is in question.
Leeds are unbeaten at home in nine consecutive official matches.
Only in two of these meetings were the peacocks allowed.
Fulham have lost two of their last 12 official matches.
The unbeaten away streak of “summer residents” reached seven official matches.
In all six past official away matches of Fulham, the bet “total under 2.5” played in regulation time.
In the face-to-face confrontation, Fulham is an inconvenient opponent for Leeds. The Peacocks have beaten the summer residents only once in the last eight matches, with two wins against Fulham. It happened just last season. The “Summer residents” at Craven Cottage won (2: 1), and the “Leeds” at “Elland Road” finally took a convincing revenge – 3: 0.
06/27/20 Leeds Fulham thirty
12/21/19 Fulham Leeds 2: 1
04/03/18 Fulham Leeds 20
08/15/17 Leeds Fulham 0: 0
03/07/17 Fulham Leeds eleven
08/16/16 Leeds Fulham eleven
Surely the “Leeds” familiar to them , “summer residents” will not be afraid, trying to earn points on “Elland”. As the statistics show, Fulham are likely to close in defense and rely on one or two goals in attack. Leeds also do not always show such “fun” football as in the match against Liverpool. Especially at home. Here you can take the risk of betting on a win for the hosts in combination with “total less than 3.5”.
Our prediction – Leeds will not lose + total under 3.5 for 1.62 in BC Winline
