In the 1/32 finals of the League Cup, Leeds will try to justify their status as a participant in the Premier League and defeat Hull – we have prepared a forecast for this meeting.
Leeds showed excellent performance against Liverpool, not in the least afraid of the national champion. “Peacocks” have received a lot of compliments, and in such a great mood Marcelo Bielsa’s wards approach the League Cup.
It is worth noting that Leeds won six official matches in a row before losing to Liverpool. Moreover, most of them “white” won back to zero. True, all this was two months ago.
In the League Cup, Leeds have been playing poorly lately. Although in 2016 the peacocks reached the quarterfinals, and in 2017 they reached the 1/8 finals. In subsequent seasons, the “whites” passed the first round, but were eliminated in the second.
Hull City played in the same league with Leeds last season. However, if the “peacocks” went up, then the “tigers”, on the contrary, went down in the class. Hull is now a representative of League 1. The Tigers fell there in the very end of the championship, having lost six matches in a row. The team started the new season much more positively. Hull beat Sunderland on penalties in the League Cup, and beat Gillingham 2-0 in the away championship.
In the League Cup, Hull usually go through the first round but are eliminated in the second. The exceptions were the 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons, when Hull made their way to the quarterfinals and then to the semifinals of the tournament. In the first case, the Tigers lost to Manchester City, and in the second to Manchester United. However, in those years, “Hull” was still a representative of the Premier League.
Leeds have won six of their last seven official matches.
Hull have lost seven of their nine past official matches.
Leeds have beaten Hull in three of their last four meetings. Last season, the Peacocks defeated the Tigers 4-0 and 2-0.
In all six past head-to-head matches of these clubs, the bet “both will score – no” played.
In this match, the first and last teams of the last season of the Championship will meet. Moreover, the champion will play against an outsider at home. Most likely, the “peacocks” will calmly deal with the “tigers” without even noticing the resistance of the latter. Given the statistics of meetings between clubs, Leeds will probably even keep the net clean.
Our prediction is a win with a clean sheet – Leeds United for 2.26 in BC Marathon
