Right after the diagnosis, which predicted a maximum of two months of life, Kamiński fought an extremely difficult battle with the disease. His widow, Justyna Sieńczyłło, recalls that the actor did not give up, treating the disease as a part of life. “Through willpower, he did not allow the disease to get to him at all,” he emphasizes. Despite the difficulties, he continued his artistic activities for five years, writing and directing plays.

Emilian Kamiński rests in the Alley of the Meritorious at Warsaw's Powązki Cemetery, and his tomb, full of symbols, is a reminder of the extraordinary undertaking to which he devoted his life. The Kamienica Theatre remains a lasting monument to his passion and determination.

Emilian Kamiński — Theatrical Tombstone and Its Symbolism

Last year, an impressive tombstone of Emilian Kamiński appeared at the cemetery, which arouses emotions and associations with his life and work. The tomb, which reflects the actor's passion, resembles a theater – the central element is the vertical part of the tombstone, covered on both sides by a stone curtain, and in front of it there is a theater seat for the audience.

Theatrical Symbolism

A portrait of Emilian Kamiński and a brick from the theater building with a moving inscription were placed on the tomb of the founder of the Kamienica Theater, bearing the following text: “The beating of your heart created Kamienica. We loved you, we love you. We will meet soon.” Such elements emphasize the actor's strong connection with his work and love for art.
