According to reports, the prosecutor's office is already conducting an investigation into the fuel spill. As a result of the incident, not only the coastline was polluted. Some of the raw materials got into the river water, which is why a limited emergency regime was introduced in the north of the federal subject. Within its framework, they have already begun to take all the necessary measures to eliminate pollution. Nevertheless, the forces of the Ministry of Emergencies were not involved in the elimination of the consequences. Tomorrow, a special commission will arrive at the Khatanga settlement, which will include members of the regional administration and prosecutors. They will have to establish the exact cause of the incident and identify those responsible for the incident.
According to preliminary data, the fuel spill was due to a ruptured hose line. It bent and burst during the injection of the product into the reservoir from the Lenaneft-2060 tanker. The ship got off the anchor due to a strong gust of wind.
