Emergence : pas de saison 2 pour la série, ABC renouvelle The Rookie et Black-ish

Emergence, Single Parents cancelled The Rookie and Black-ish renewed

We already knew the future of The Good Doctor, and Grey’s Anatomy, renewed, respectively, for a season 4 and a season 17, ABC is coming this time to address its other series. And between cancellations (Emergence, Single Parents…) and renewals (The Rookie, The Goldbergs…), the chain has once again played with the hearts of the viewers.

As every year in the spring, it is time for the tv channels to the USA to sort their schedules in order to better prepare for the next school year. And like every year, some of their decisions have anything to break the hearts of many viewers. The last executioner in date ? ABC.

No conclusion for the Emergence

The chain just announced, despite a captivating plot and wonderful promises for the future, Emergence will not be entitled to a season 2. A logical decision – the hearings of the series were not really good, but that should disappoint Alexa Swinton – the interpreter Piper. A few weeks ago, the young actress admitted that it was the hope of a bright future for this fiction fantasy, “I’m dying to discover what will happen after season 1. All the more that the first season ends with one last episode fantastic and scary and ends in a cliffhanger. I would be so sad that this is the end and that the series ends after one season. Because there are still lots of stories to tell with these characters.”

Cancellations in cascade

And unfortunately, the sadism, the ABC has not stopped there. Thus, it was also learned, after the recent purposes of Fresh off the boat, Modern Family , and How to Get Away with Murder, these are the comedies Schooled – a spin-off of The Goldbergs, Single Parents , and Bless This Mess that don ‘t come back for a season 3, while the future of the new series For Life and The Baker and the Beauty is still uncertain. Recently launched in the USA, the chain gives a few weeks to find out if they deserve a season 2.

The series renewed

However, ABC is not only cruel, it’s also known to be generous when it is needed. After having already renewed series like Grey’s Anatomy or The Good Doctor, she has this time decided to save his other iconic series. The program ? A Million Little Things will come back for a season 3, Black-ish will have the right to a season 7, The Goldbergs – more fortunate than his little sister, will have a season 8, Nathan Fillion will play in the Rookie during a season 3, while the new Stumptown and Mixed-ish will come back for a season 2.
