Elon Musk wants to use blockchain to improve the efficiency of the US government

The head of the new U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Elon Musk has begun considering the use of blockchain technology (a method of securely storing and transmitting data as a chain of blocks that are linked together by special keys – each of them contains information about the previous one) to improve the efficiency of the country's government, writes Bloomberg.

According to agency sources, the use of this technology to track federal spending, protect data, make payments and even manage houses the billionaire discussed with his entourage. There were also a number of meetings with representatives of public blockchains.

They also add that «the negotiations have a certain intuitive logic» given that the name of Musk's department is «a reference to the Dogecoin cryptocurrency», which runs on its own blockchain.
