Elon Musk threatens to sue media over coverage of Cybertruck explosion in Las Vegas

Elon Musk may sue media over reports of Tesla Cybertruck explosion near Las Vegas hotel. The investigation determined that the incident was an act of suicide by a serviceman, not a vehicle malfunction.

Tesla Elon Musk suggested that he may file a lawsuit against the media after reports of a Tesla Cybertruck exploding near the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on January 1.

This is reported by Newsweek, writes UNN.

The Cybertruck incident sparked a debate over Tesla's safety standards, which Musk has strongly defended, criticizing suggestions that the explosion was caused by a car malfunction.

Musk spoke out at X to defend the Cybertruck amid the flurry of news about the explosion, saying that the Cybertruck's robust design could withstand a more powerful blast.

After law enforcement officials confirmed Musk's point, the Tesla CEO said live on X that he would “possibly” sue the media over their coverage of the incident.

The entire senior Tesla team is currently investigating this matter. We will post more information as soon as we know something. We have never seen anything like it

–  Musk first commented on the incident.

He later wrote a second post stating that they had found confirmation that the explosion was caused by a very powerful firework and/or bomb carried in the back of a rented Cybertruck, and was unrelated to the ’ by vehicle.

At the time of the explosion, the telemetry of all cars was positive. Evil idiots chose the wrong car for a terrorist attack. The Cybertruck actually contained the blast and directed the blast upwards. Even the glass doors of the lobby were not broken

– wrote Musk, noting that the Cybertruck “is not suitable for carrying out terrorist attacks”.
