Elon Musk made a gesture similar to a Nazi salute after Trump's inauguration

American billionaire and CEO of Tesla and SpaceX Elon Musk, who was selected by US President Donald Trump to head the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), has twice made a gesture resembling a Nazi salute.

This happened during a speech to Donald Trump supporters and was captured recorded broadcast.

Musk said that Trump's victory was «a fork in the road of human civilization», noting that «some elections, you know, are important, and some aren't», but this one, in his words, «really mattered».

«I just want to say thank you for what happened», — Musk said, then made a gesture twice similar to the«Roman salute», which in modern times is associated with the Nazi salute «Sieg heil!».

The billionaire continued that now Americans «will have safe cities, secure borders, smart spending».

«And we are going to take DOGE to Mars. You can imagine how that will be awesome. American astronauts will plant a flag on this planet for the first time», — Musk emphasized.

The gesture confused journalists and sparked discussion on social networks, in particular on the X platform, which Musk owns. Yes, this case was reported by TelegraphIndependentJerusalem Post and a number of other media outlets.

Democratic Party strategist Sawyer Hackett on Platform X directly accused Musk of «Nazi salute». Instead, other users defended the tech mogul and stressed that the fragment was taken out of context. They noted that Musk reached out to people and thanked them, saying: «My heart goes to you».

Musk himself did not comment on the accusations, however published a video of his speech, which shows him making a hand gesture.
