Musk expects a working prototype of the Tesla Optimus android to be ready by the end of September, allowing him to unveil the new product at Tesla AI Day #2, scheduled for September 30.
“Hopefully , by then we'll have an interesting prototype ready to show people. We have a very talented team at Tesla, with whom I work closely to complete a humanoid robot prototype by the end of September — he said.
At the same time, the businessman hinted at other announcements as part of Tesla AI Day #2. According to Musk, the event will show something that will make Tesla be seen as the world's leading artificial intelligence company.
Electrek believes that this is how the head of Tesla stirs up public interest in the announcement dedicated to the supercomputer Dojo, which is engaged in “training” Tesla neural networks.
Tesla AI Day #2 was originally scheduled to take place in April, one year after Tesla AI Day #1. However, in the appointed month, Musk announced the postponement of the event to autumn due to the unavailability of the Tesla Optimus prototype.
