Another flag bearer of Ukraine was named at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics. Along with tennis player Elina Svitolina, swimmer Mykhailo Romanchuk will carry the blue and yellow flag.

Ukrainian swimmer Mykhailo Romanchuk will be the second flag bearer of Ukraine at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The NOC of Ukraine announced this in the official Telegram channel.

Svitolina will carry the flag as the current bronze medalist of the Tennis Olympics – she is the only female tennis player in the history of Ukraine who won a medal in this sport at the Olympic Games.

It is interesting that Svitolina will become the third woman who will carry the Ukrainian flag at the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympic Games. The first was Yana Klochkova – in 2008.

Elina Svitolina, in addition to her sports career, is also known for her active civic position and charity. She is the ambassador of the fundraising platform UNITED24, the creation of which was initiated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyi. In addition, she has her own charitable foundation that takes care of children who dream of becoming tennis players.

At the previous Olympics-2020 in Tokyo, which took place in 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Ukrainian flag was carried by archers Olena Kostevich and fencer Bohdan Nikishyn.

The opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics will take place on Friday, July 26, at 9:00 p.m. Kyiv time. The live broadcast will take place on “Suspilne Sport”, local TV channels “Suspilny” and “Pershiy” TV channel. Ukraine will be represented at the 2024 Olympic Games by 140 athletes who will compete in 23 sports. =”Elina Svitolina will carry the flag of Ukraine at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games” />
