The competition at Wimbledon is coming to an end and this Saturday the final of the women's category was played: Elena Rybakina (WTA: 23) became champion after coming back and beating Ons Jabeur 2-1 (WTA: 2). Interestingly, the brand new winner was able to participate in the third Grand Slam of the season thanks to the fact that she had Kazakh nationality: tennis players from her native Russia, in addition to Belarus, were banned from the contest due to the war with Ukraine. < /p>

The title clash took place at Center Court in London, under the watchful eyes of a large number of fans. The confrontation promised great intensity due to the good performance that both athletes showed throughout the elimination rounds of the English championship.

However, there was a slight preference for Jabeur, both due to his better position in the ranking and his background, and precisely the duel began in his favor. In the first set, the Tunisian was very efficient, breaking her opponent's serve twice and taking the partial advantage in the key, winning 3-6.

The outlook was positive for Ons, but she didn't have the same level in the second game and ended up being easily outplayed, losing serve twice. Rybakina decreed a solid 6-2 to level the series and, highly motivated, repeated the formula in the third game (another 6-2), consummating the comeback and the victory.
