Former sprinter Nicolas Macrozonaris is once again in the race to be elected as municipal councilor in Laval next November.
The former Olympic athlete presents himself in Saint-Martin under the banner of Action Laval, directed by Sonia Baudelot.
“I would never have been able to represent Canada at the Olympic Games without the support of Laval. This is why I have been actively involved and volunteering in Laval for more than 15 years. My goal is to give back to my community as much as possible now for the people of Saint-Martin, Chomedey and Laval, ”he said in a press release on Wednesday.
“Laval has problems, I want to provide solutions and participate in the big change with Sonia Baudelot,” added Nicolas Macrozonaris.
This is not the first time that the former Canadian 100m champion has come to Laval. Under the banner of Action Laval, then led by Jean-Claude Gobé, the ex-runner bit the dust in the 2017 poll in Sainte-Dorothée, finishing third.
The one who took part in the Olympic Games in Sydney and Athens is a sports therapist as well as the founder and head coach of an athletics club.
