Edurne and David de Gea have become parents to their first daughter, whom they have named Yanay. The couple has shared on their respective Instagram profiles the same image where you can see the little girl's hand, her name and the date of birth: Thursday, March 4. Both the singer and the goalkeeper have published the news on their social networks, as they did last November, when they announced that Edurne was pregnant .
The couple, who live in the British city of Manchester where he plays, moved a few weeks ago to Madrid to receive their daughter in the Spanish capital. In one of her last appearances, the photographers captured the singer accompanied by her mother who was attending a routine check-up at the Ruber Clinic, where she gave birth. The one who is the first daughter in common for the artist and the soccer player is also the first granddaughter for her grandparents. The name that the couple has chosen for the little girl, Yanay, has Quechua origin and means "my beloved."
Throughout her pregnancy, Edurne has not stopped working. A few months ago he finished the recordings of the last season of Got Talent , now on the air, and has continued with the promotion of his new album and participating in some performances, such as when last February at the TVE gala about the choice of the song from Eurovisión sang with Blas Cantó , who will represent Spain at the music festival on May 22 in Rotterdam. Meanwhile, the goalkeeper of Manchester United and the Spanish team has also continued with his professional obligations until a few days ago when he announced that he would take a one-month paternity leave.
The goalkeeper, who was about to play in the ranks of the Real Madrid, and the artist who was a finalist in the fourth edition of Operación Triunfo and represented Spain at Eurovision in 2015 have been together for a decade. Despite the fame of both, they have always tried to carry their relationship in a very discreet and natural way , without interviews, exclusives or big appearances.
They have always kept their personal life far from the spotlight , or have tried. The biggest scandal they had to deal with was in the summer of 2016, when they spoke of the goalkeeper's involvement in the so-called Torbe case , related to a crime of sexual abuse and trafficking in women. De Gea denied his involvement in it at all times while Edurne, then preferred to remain silent (although sources from his environment did reveal that the "media pressure" was very harsh). Finally, he spoke on the subject several months later, assuring that their courtship had not been in danger and that they knew that the accusations were false, so they had lived calmly: “I never had doubts. I always fully trusted David's innocence. I have supported him and I have been by his side ”. A solidity that has become clear with the passage of time, the continuity of their relationship and the project, now completed, of being parents together.
