ECtHR demanded from Russia to ensure non-execution of the death sentence imposed on two Britons

The ECtHR demanded that Russia ensure that the death sentence imposed on two Britons is not carried out

Aiden Aslin and Sean Pinner were sentenced to death by the «DNR»

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) said on Thursday that he issued a warrant to Russia to enforce a death sentence handed down on two British citizens who were captured after participating in hostilities on the side of Ukraine.

Earlier this month, a trial in the self-proclaimed “Donetsk People's Republic ” in eastern Ukraine sentenced British citizens Aiden Aslin and Sean Pinner to death, accusing them of “mercenary activities.”

The ECtHR said it had issued an order of provisional measures, telling Russia that it “must ensure, that the death sentence imposed on the applicants would not be carried out; ensure proper conditions for their detention and provide them with any necessary medical care and medicines.”

Aslin and Pinner served in the Ukrainian armed forces on a contract basis. Their families deny that they were mercenaries.
