According to the manufacturer, the device can charge a 4,000 mAh smartphone up to 100% in just 3-4 hours.
The EcoFlow company has created a flexible solar panel for charging a smartphone, mounted in the Power Hat headgear. The Verge reported about the unusual gadget.
The Power Hat gadget from EcoFlow is made in the form of a winged sun hat equipped with solar batteries. It is designed to power small devices that people usually take with them on a walk, the beach, a picnic or on a trip.
According to the manufacturer, the device can charge a smartphone with a 4,000 mAh battery to 100% in just 3-4 hours.
Power Hat solar cells are made of a thin, flexible material called monocrystalline silicon with passivated emitter and back contact (PERC). It offers approximately 12W charging via the USB-A and USB-C connectors located on the underside of the visor. The weight of the gadget is 370 g, and the price — $129.
The Power Hat is also known to have an IP65 rating, which means it's dustproof and waterproof (it can withstand jets of water from any direction). The hat is presented in two sizes. The smaller size is adjustable in the range of 56-58 cm, and the larger — in the 59-61cm range.
The Power Hat will be available for pre-order until August 31st and EcoFlow says it plans to start shipping these unusual solar cells in mid-September.
