Duda discussed the historical problems of Ukraine and Poland

There should be a “breakthrough” in the problematic historical issues between Poland and Ukraine, but not as a result of “blackmail”, since this is “nothing good” will not bring.

This opinion was expressed in an interview with Polsat News by Polish President Andrzej Duda, reports "European Truth".

Duda noted that during his visit to New York for the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, he held a short meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky at the Organization's headquarters.

According to him, the leaders of the countries "exchanged a few words", in particular, discussed the situation at the front, while they did not touch on the topic of the Volyn tragedy in the conversation.

However, Duda noted that he had previously discussed this issue with Zelensky on several occasions.

The Polish president noted that the result of these conversations was, in particular, the joint participation of the two leaders in an ecumenical service at the cathedral in Lutsk (in July 2023 – ed.), where they honored victims of the Volyn tragedy.

“This was the result of calm and very balanced work on this issue,” he emphasized.

He also said that the issue of exhuming the victims was the subject of his conversation with Zelensky during his visit to Kyiv on the anniversary of Ukraine's independence.

“I hope that by the end of my presidency there will be some breakthrough in this issue. On the other hand, I would not like this to happen through blackmail, which, in my opinion, will not bring good results,” he said.
