Police intercepted a motorist driving at 190 km/h on Highway 15 in Montreal at 4 a.m. Wednesday, where the speed limit is 70 km/h.

The 27-year-old man was intercepted heading north near Boulevard Édouard-Monpetit, the Sûreté du Québec said in a press release.

The driver received a ticket for $2155 with 24 demerit points. His driving license was suspended for a period of seven days, we read in the statement from the police force.
